An 18-foot aluminum-built Starcraft boat overturned near the Ford Yacht Club in Grosse Ile Township at around 7:45 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2023. It was found “drifting off-shore with damage to the bow portion of the vessel” according to the police.

After this, a search was launched to find the operator or passenger of the boat. At around 5:40 PM on the same day, a 23-year-old man’s lifeless body was recovered from water in Wayne County. He was identified as Hunter Polgar, a resident of Grosse Ile, Michigan.

The Grosse Ile Police are investigating the boating accident that claimed the life of Hunter Polgar and if there were any other casualties involved. The divers continued the search until late at night but could not find anyone else other than the body of Hunter Polgar.
