What Happened in Tottenham?
On December 26, 2022, shortly after 5:40 p.m., police were summoned to a residence on Pyne Hills Court for a welfare check. According to the police, when the officers arrived, they discovered a fire at the house and called for help from the New Tecumseth Fire and Paramedic Services.
The OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and Central Region Crime Units are assisting with the investigation, which is being led by the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and done in coordination with the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) and Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario.
When the police came, the house was already on fire. Inside, two bodies were discovered to be dead. Police have stated that the fire was not the cause of the death, but they have not given any other information earlier.

The only thing the OPP said was that “Investigators are determining there is no concern to public safety surrounding this isolated event,” without specifying whether it was a murder-suicide or how Adrienne and Matteo died.

How Did Adrienne Nesich And Matteo Nesich Die?
On Boxing Day, December 26th, 2022, in Tottenham, a 48-year-old lady, Adrienne Nesich and her nine-year-old kid, Matteo Nesich were found dead before being found inside their Pyne Hills Court house, according to Nottawasaga OPP.
Police checked on the welfare of 26 people after three deaths and found two dead and a fire in the house. The third victim, according to the police, was taken to the hospital and later declared dead. The homicide status of Adrienne Nesich, 48, and Matteo Nesich, 9, has been established, according to investigators.
According to the OPP, “Police have confirmed that the cause of death was not connected to the fire at the property.” It has been determined that Matteo the child’s and Adrienne NESICH’s deaths were homicides.
Adrienne Nesich (Hardy) and Matteo Nesich’s viewing will take place at the Turner and Porter Funeral Home, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga. On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, viewing/visitation hours will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm.
On January 11, 2023, a private family ceremony will be performed for Adrienne and Matteo. Following the service, a private family burial will be held at Springcreek Cemetery. Later on, there will be a memorial service.
Michael Nesich, a family member launched GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Nesich’s older son, who wasn’t home at the time of the fire, and the combined total has since reached close to $25,000 as of now.
Shawn Hardy set up a second GoFundMe page for Jaiden, who lost his family after they passed away due to “a very unexpected incident,” and it has already raised more than $51,000. After losing his mother, Adrienne, and younger brother, Matteo, Hardy said, Jaiden was the only person to survive.
