On June 20th, 1938, Dennis Budimir was born in Los Angeles, California. Budimir learned how to play the piano and the guitar on his own when he was younger, and by the time he was fourteen. He had already started his career. He was a member of a quartet in Los Angeles in the middle of the 1950s that also included La Monte Young, Don Cherry, and Billy Higgins.

He assisted Peggy Lee and worked with Bud Shank between 1960 and 1961 before enlisting in the military in 1961. After receiving his release in 1963, he went on a tour of Japan with Bobby Troup before returning to the Los Angeles region, where he spent the following few decades working as a studio musician and a member of The Wrecking Crew. Joni Mitchell, The Carpenters, Brian Wilson, Barbra Streisand, Ravi Shankar, Frank Zappa, Linda Ronstadt, Julie London, and Dusty Springfield are just a few of the musicians he has collaborated with.
