Who was Johnny Cavelle?
Johnny Cavelle was a dancer and a teacher of dance. He was born in Tulare, South Dakota, and spent most of his life in Groton, South Dakota. He began dancing when he was a child, and his love for dance only grew stronger over the years. When he retired thirteen years ago, he owned five dance studios in Aberdeen, Watertown, Huron, Milbank, and Redfield. His business was called Johnny Cavelle Dance Studies.
After Johnny retired, his dance studios were taken over by Vicki Schnoor, Chad Hansen, and Andrea Conklin. They continue to run the studios in his memory, and they work together to support each other with choreography, backstage assistance on recital nights, and costumes.
