Who Was Peter “Mean Pete” Kowalsky?

Pete Kowalsky was a singer and lyricist for the band Remembering Never, and was considered a pillar of the Florida Metal/Hardcore scene. His role as the current frontman for the band xBishopx, whose lyrics focus on the Straight Edge lifestyle, is particularly noteworthy.

Pete finished his education by majoring in both history and nutrition and before his departure, he was a qualified teacher at a posh private school. He was a fiercely driven individual with an endless flame in his belly, but the hatred he releases over Remembering Never’s horrific musical onslaught is refined and targeted.

With his music and interviews, Pete has offended a lot of people, yet he never sways from his convictions and can ardently defend them. All he asks of people, in his own words, is that they “step out of their comfort zone, and see things from a different angle.”

He also owns Dead Truth Records, a modest but immensely interesting musical label located in his hometown of Palm Springs, Florida.
