🙏🏽 for our sweet Hoppel family and the loss of the One and ONLY Joe Hoppel who was the godfather of our country music radio on WCMS growing up in VA my whole life plus some. His son Mike who worked with my Momma at Kempsville Building Materials was our DJ at Aunt Vanessa and Uncle Allan back in 2006 for our wedding. Mike and the Kempsville crew were the funnest family in her office for all of my hell raising teenage years and I will always miss those days they helped my Momma get through raising my crazy ass. I think it’s so wild that my Pop and Joe both lived to be the same age @89 years. Thanks for a lifetime of music and loving good times you two! Coming to VA has never been the same since they were a part of it that’s for sure.I feel lucky to still have the same memories when I drive to VA as I did when I was 16 though. Nothing will ever erase the best true friends and family of people and times of my life no matter what time tries to steal. I’ll always unconditionally love every single one of my people to the fullest, I can only hope they will always know who they are.

Joe Hoppel’s legacy transcends generations, and his contributions to the country music scene will not be forgotten. Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, and fans during this difficult time.
