The world lost a great talent yesterday. Jon Liebing was not just musician, but a true entertainer. He had the ability to put his whole heart and soul into one of his originals, or do justice to a cover, and I do believe Jon invented the mash up of songs and have you rollin and on the verge of wetting your pants. Countless hours at pubs and other venues around upstate NY. He always made a point to rib me about the way I said my name on the radio when I walked in, he’d Stop the show and we’d just laugh and laugh about it. I always appreciated the times you’d let Dave Schroeder and I get up and do a few songs out of the set. I know the last years have been a booger bear with your health, but you kept the show goin. You’ve been released and reunited with Kim. Godspeed my brother! RIP.

So sad to hear of the passing of my dear old friend Jon Liebing. He was one of the first local musicians I looked up to as I was coming up in my teens. Jon, you added so much to and touched so many lives. You will be missed dearly by us all.
To my friend Jon.
Thank you for being a friend, and someone that allowed me to share some of my talents that were so much less than yours at your venues. You took the time to record music with me, and teach me how to overlay tracks. And whenever I saw him, he called me up on stage and asked me to play. One of the songs we’ve always played together, was knocking on heavens door. I’m sure the doors open. I love you and I miss you. Your talents and your humor and your generosity will be missed by many. God loves you and will take care of you.
