Born and raised in Kentucky, USA, he experienced a turbulent childhood in an abusive household. This led him to leave home at a young age and face bouts of homelessness, moving from place to place.

Despite these challenges, Denne showed remarkable resilience. He relied heavily on school-provided meals and often stayed after sports activities to use the facilities before finding a place to spend the night. At the age of 16, when his school authorities discovered his living situation, he received care and support from the school and a compassionate Christian pastor who became his foster parent.

Yesterday was a hard day. Last night our family lost a great man, my uncle Denne Cruz or uncle Dennis as I knew him. Growing up he was my favorite uncle ( sorry uncle Bobby and uncle Jr). Him and I would always crack jokes about our family, he always told me that we were the quiet ones of the family. Everyone else talked too loud. Lol. Although he lived in Australia and I have not seen him for years, we still had this love. I’m so heartbroken for my granny Virginia Thompson for the loss of her only son and his beautiful wife Mary-Anne Cruz and his beautiful daughters. Life is so short y’all. It really it is. Uncle Dennis you will truly be missed. The next thing I am going to say is that if you are going through hard times, please reach out to someone you love. There are many sources these days where you can seek help. Don’t be embarrassed, don’t feel like you’re being a burden or alone. Just find help. I promise you that there are people who love and care about you. ❤️Suicide lifeline is 988.www.Namilex.orgText ‘Talk’ to 741741

Denne is survived by his loving wife and three young children, who were his world. The void left by his passing will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
