Pelin Kaya, 30, was walking near the Paul & Rocco petrol station when she was hit by a black BMW driven by Jeremie Camilleri on Testaferrata Street at 1 AM on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. The impact made her flung several meters away and the BMW later crashed into the nearby KFC restaurant.

An ambulance crew rushed Kaya to the Mater Dei Hospital but she died shortly after due to the injuries sustained in the crash. Reportedly, the driver of the BMW also assaulted the victim and threw stones at her before getting subdued by the police.

Kaya was celebrating her 30th birthday at the time of the tragic crash. It’s reported that Kaya and Camilleri did not know each other and it was an accident.

The Turkish woman Pelin Kaya was killed by 33-year-old Jeremie Camilleri after he ran her over with his BMW. Camilleri was arrested on-site after being subdued by police officers. The police had to use a taser in order to control him.

The CCTV footage of the accident reveals Camilleri walking out of the vehicle and striding across to the other side of the road. He also assaulted passers-by and resisted arrest as per the reports.
