The Turkish football community, as well as the rest of the world, has expressed its deepest condolences and sympathies to the family of the late Savut.

In a statement on Twitter, Hatayspor said, “We feel the deep sorrow of losing our Sporting Director Taner Savut. We will not forget you teacher Taner. Rest in heaven. You are always in our hearts.”

About Ronesans Residence

The Ronesans Residence, where Savut was trapped, has become a symbol of poor construction practices in Turkey. The building, constructed in 2013, was one of the many that collapsed during the recent earthquakes that rocked the region. It has become apparent that the building was not built to withstand the force of the quake.

The tragedy has led to widespread calls for better building practices and regulations in Turkey. The country has a history of poorly constructed buildings that have collapsed during natural disasters, resulting in the loss of many lives.

The Death of Christian Atsu

Savut was not the only Hatayspor member to lose his life in the disaster. Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu was also found dead last week close to where Savut’s body was discovered. The loss of two members of the same team has left the football community in shock.

Atsu was a talented player who had made a name for himself in the football world. He was a Ghanaian international and had played for a number of top clubs, including Chelsea and Newcastle United.
