Her grandson and a well-known musician, Usher took to his Instagram account to reveal that her grandmother, Tina, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Usher confirmed her passing and released a statement following the demise of his grandmother,
“My Grandma Tina has passed away, and it has taken me a few days to accept her gone. For everyone who relied on her, I hope for wisdom and courage. She made it a daily dedication to assisting those who were in need. Her life’s labor was this. She was a true fighter in prayer for myself and countless others. I currently feel a little lost.
Part of me is trying to be strong, for others…Her belief was that GOD always has a plan…I’m trying to understand that right now. The other half of me keeps crumbling in silence. Days ago, we were just giggling. I genuinely believed we had more time.
No matter the hour or how long it took, she was always there when I called on her when I was lost. She gave me the exact Bible passage I needed when I needed one to fit the situation I was in at the moment. I now know that she prayed to God, and that he heard her, and that he has called her home. Simply put, I wasn’t ready.
Grandma’s last words to me were, “There’s a time for everything son …there’s a time to laugh, a time to cry…there’s a time to live and a time to die.” When I was most exposed, broken, baffled, and lost. She noticed something else and was there to serve as a reminder that no matter what I was going through, I had a purpose.”
She was my earth angel, doing whatever it took to fast for me and pray that God would free me from the tension and conflict that I was currently blinded by. She would dispatch presiding angels to open my way. She would say, “You are Usher Raymond…you are to Welcome Light to Man,” bringing people from the shadows into the light. We would giggle about her prediction that I would become a minister eventually, and she would simply respond, “Hallelujah to GOD BE THE GLORY.”
Grandma, I need you now more than ever. Only to hear from you once more. I miss you.
