The effect Zach has left on this world is monumental. With his infectious smile and contagious laughter, Zach was someone to bring light to another when they may have needed it the most. Zachary left his home in Florida to serve in the United States Coast Guard up in Maine. He received countless awards there where he fulfilled his dream to save lives. Most recently, Zach became a volunteer firefighter in Perry, Maine, while managing an arduous schedule with the USCG. This is a testament for his dedication to the community he served.

On behalf of the Officers and Members of the Perry Volunteer Fire Dept. we are heartbroken to announce the unexpected passing of Firefighter Zachary Henderson on 12/05/23. Zach was stationed with Coast Guard Station Eastport and volunteered his time and enthusiasm with the Perry Fire Department. He was quick to volunteer to help others and did so with a smile every time. We will miss his enthusiasm and weep for his young life cut way too short. Our thoughts and prayers go out to our members, Zach’s family and friends and Coast Guard Station Eastport as they heal. Thank you Zach, we have the watch from here.
